Keani Johnson English ll Career Paper 8 March 2024 Cosmetologists My career of choice is Cosmetology. I would say that I have been interested in it since elementary school. The thing that inspired me was my step dad. He always used to show how passionate he was about it. I want to have a job in this career field because I like doing hands-on work and being creative. Something I think makes this career good is that I am creative and I am willing to listen to what people think. Cosmetologists provide many beauty services. They work with cutting, coloring, and styling hair, and massaging and treating the scalp. Some may apply makeup, dress wigs, and provide nail and skincare services. The salary of a cosmetologist is in three levels. The entry wage is around twenty five thousand dollars. The median wage is around $38,800. the average wage is around forty nine thousand dollars (“Cosmetologist”). I know that this is not a lot of money. I also understand that I will be stressed about my financial needs, but I believe I can make it through tough times. Cosmetologists are required to use various forms of technology, including a website being built just for the company. This would be a good idea because customers can book online. Also on the website, the company may put pictures of their hair so clients can see what their hair will look like. Something that other cosmetologists use is Youtube. On YouTube, they can show the process of hair (“Cosmetologist”). When I think about the demand for cosmetology, I think it is enough to handle. The demand for being a cosmetologist is not ever high.
