History and Background Second Harvest Food Bank is a non-profit organization located in Irvine, California. To be more specific, it is a 501[c]3 nonprofit organization. This type of organization is exempt from federal income taxes because it helps those in need or those who are underprivileged. Their Board of Directors, Advisory Board, and Event Committee members all volunteer their time to help individuals around the county of Orange. Organizational Structure In an organization, the board plays a crucial role in managing and acting on what is best. Their goal is to fulfill the organization's mission and make improvements. As previously mentioned, Second Harvest Food Bank does have an executive team, board of directors, advisory board, and event committee. Claudia Bonilla Keller is the CEO of Second Harvest Food Bank. She has a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in public administration, which she obtained at Cal State Fullerton. Keller has been the Chief Executive Officer for over 2 years now at Second Harvest and has over 20 years of experience in nonprofit leadership.
