Open lunch is used for leaving school grounds during lunch period. One of the issues with open campus lunch includes students getting into trouble. Linda Saslow in her article “Schools Split on ‘Open Campus’” from The New York Times spoke of the cons of open lunch as, “(a) misuse of free time, including drug and alcohol use.” may occur (October 23, 1988). One life-changing example would be car wrecks or collisions. “Parents are concerned about their children being involved in accidents,” testifies Saslow (23 Oct.,1988)Which could injure or kill pedestrians with the inexperienced drivers.
