Describe specifically how you will use the 1,000 Dreams Scholarship. If given the 1,000 Dreams Scholarship, I will use the funds to purchase textbooks and extra supplies required by the MU PA Program. With the Program being 27-months and 114-credit hours, then followed by 12-months of four-week clinical rotations, the necessary supplies and readings will surely add up in costs. Also, following graduation from the program, I will be required to take the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE) before I can practice as a PA. The scholarship will assist in covering the expenses of the exam itself, as well as study materials for the assessment. Lastly, as a PA student, you have the opportunity to attend educational conferences. For example, the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA) holds a number of events, both in-person and online, available to prospective and current PAs. Please note: Following PA school, my professional career dream is to become a Pediatric Physician Assistant. In order to do so, I must take out the necessary loans in order to financially support myself through my time in graduate school. The 1,000 Dreams Scholarship will help alleviate a fraction of my financial burden. As a PA student, I will be in class five days a week, nine hours a day. This leaves little room for time outside of the classroom, especially for a job to make an income. My time will be better spent studying and focusing on the material at hand so I can become the future provider I have always hoped to become. Not having to worry about finances and the debt I will be in following graduate school will make a world of a difference.
