In this story they describe the coexistence of three male brothers and a female sister whose name is Mabel. In the description Mabel is shown with great apathy referring to what his three brothers say. Joe who is his older brother is narrating about a cavalcade that is happening right by his house. His second brother, Fred, and younger brother Malcolm. Apparently they must all leave the house, and not only are they questioned but also question Mabel, where she would work and where she lived. She shows the same way she has been behaving before, does not answer the questions of her brothers and with the same apathy as always. It narrates the daily life of a Dominican family that due to political situations are transferred to the United States of America. And it is also the living story of how a family lives without time for love, dedicated only to work where there is no place to manifestations of love. In this effort the protagonist of the work, finds the way to express her love for the family, ironing the clothes in their entirety, and describe how she is dedicated to smooth the folds of skirts or shirts. In this way she externalizes the lack of affection for the time factor in family life, thus overcoming the understanding and unity of the family and it is in this way that she manifests the love for her father, mother and sister. It draws attention to the world this work in which invites families to choose to communicate with quality although there is no amount of time for this to strengthen family
