The Nineteenth Amendment is written as followed; “The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.” The amendment was praised, as women had finally gained a voice in the country's politics, which they have been seeking to gain since the Fourteenth amendment. The passing of this amendment caused a dramatic difference in the political views of women. The Nineteenth amendment was passed by congress in June 1919, and it became ratified in August, 1920. The Nineteenth Amendment was very important to the federal government, as the decisions that senators made prior were directly related to the male population, as women did not have the right to vote, thus, do not have an impact on policies and the thought process of decisions. Women did not gain the right of vote easily, as it took over 480 campaigns and legislatures attempting to gain women’s suffrage. The Nineteenth amendment is the final amendment that will be mentioned in this article, and moving forward to comparisons of the four articles, we can see the people’s attempts to counter the governments
