1932 Scarface was produced during “pre-code” Hollywood. This era in Hollywood was when “talkies” were introduced and the enforcement of the Motion Picture Production code was mandatory. While these films were censored, they weren’t severely as censored as the films that came out in 1934. The pre-code films were known for being openly suggestive.
