These aren’t older solders who served their twenty years and are now enjoying retirement; these are young men and women who served a tour or two and they come back permanently scared physically and/or mentally.

The organization 22kill.com is starting a campaign to get 22 million push ups videoed and posted on social media, not to raise money but awareness of the issue facing veterans.
As friends and family of these young veterans we can not rely on the VA to catch all the veterans who are considering suicide we the friends, family and coworkers of these men and women have to be aware of the issues and be ready to help if need be.
My older brother was one of the 22. He served in the Marine Corp during the first Gulf War and then after 9-11 rejoined the Navy and served as a Sea Bee. He came back with an injured back and demons we had no idea he was dealing with. He lived his days in almost constant pain and one day that pain just got too much and he put and end to the pain the only way he felt he could.
