I assume new appointment as the personal challenge usually and, based on my experience, the subordinates too. My main concern is how to fulfill the assigned responsibilities in most effective way concerning the superiors’ expectations. Additionally, the subordinates are worry about the upcoming changes and their positive or negative impact to the current situation. The 4th Armor Brigade Combat Team (hereafter – ABCT) preparation to conduct combat operations in the complex environment during the upcoming deployment in Africa is the critical leadership problem now. Therefore, I must to solve the existing leadership, culture and climate, stress and resilience and ethic problems, to present my clear vision for the future command and ensure the proper implementation of the new guidance. The subordinate commander’s leadership issue is the priority is to develop. According to the plan, the five of six ABCT battalion commanders will be changed in the next 30 days and many of current ABCT staff personnel will leave within the next few months as well. Moreover, I will emphasize each successful battalion’s exercises and establish the effective award system. The nominations of the Officer and Non-commissioned officer of the month will be created within the brigade too. These victories will help to build the momentum, create the soldiers satisfaction concerning the implementation of the changes and build the learning organizational culture. Finally, I will focus to the implementation of the bigger picture with purpose to eliminate the option to declare the victory too
