Some people will say that loss of innocence can not be tracked by different steps in life, rather when a person turns 18 they lose their innocence. That however is not true and can clearly be seen after reading these books. For example in 5 Chimneys Lengyel was over 18 and can still be see losing her innocence. The boys in Lord of the Flies were very young when they committed a major crime of murder. These examples show how children at different ages can lose their innocence at different times of their life and not at a defined age.
