The 5 day miracle diet has both positive and negative aspects to it. I will discuss in this paper from a holistic point of view both sides to this diet. I will also go over my personal experience and if I would recommend this diet to a client.
The 5 Day Miracle Diet has some positive aspects to it. But the negative aspects outweigh the positive. To start with the positive aspects, the whole diet is outlined for you step by step. This makes it somewhat easy to follow. I say somewhat as this can also be a negative. I will explain further when I discuss what the diets negatives are. The diet also promotes eating many vegetables and fruit while eliminating processed food and sugars. This will benefit those who have food addictions that they will be able to halt them, as they are eliminating what causes them. It will also teach an individual who is uneducated about healthy food on how to eat more of it. Many are reliant on easy processed meals; this plan forces you to eat real food.
As mentioned earlier, there are far more negatives to the 5 Day Miracle Diet. The largest concern with this diet is it could lead to unhealthy food relationships. Let me explain, there are too many “rules”. When an individual is given a plan as this, they start to worry or stress about eating times and what they are eating which leads to stress over meals and loss of intuitive eating. To simplify their plan, they may end up rotating the same foods each day. This leads to boredom in the diet and not wanting to stick with the plan and also a loss of variety in our diet. We need variety to make sure we are receiving all the vitamins and minerals we require. Restrictive diets also set up certain individuals to feel as though they have
