The story: 90 miles to Havana by Enrique Flores Galbis. The theme of the story is: never give up and never stop trying even if it is hard and there is a lot of obstacles. An example is when Julian lost the fish even though the elders told him to tell them when he felt a tug he did not want to. Also when the shooting was happening on new years eve and they had to leave their hometown because it was unsafe where they were! When they were driving to their new place there was a revolution and her mom said: “boys don't look away I want you to always remember what a revolution looks like”.
