We have never been more divided as a nation, with this Donald Trump has seemingly divided us even further with his sometimes dangerous and harmful ideas and tactics. There are always two sides though, Trumps base is still with him by a significant margin. So, in this spirit I will delve into two articles we looked into, A Hundred days of Trump, by David Remnick, and Lessons from Hitler’s Rise, by Christopher Browning. I will try and pull out the good and bad in both and weight Trumps current stance as a political, and holder of the office of the president and try to answer, how is he doing.

Hundred Days of Trump is a broad look at not only what Trump has done so far, but how he got here, going all the way back to his early business days in the 80’s where we really see Trump develop his Brand and how he will act for the rest of his life, even in the presidency. Examining a larger idea that encompasses him, Trump is brash, plain spoken, and often says things that are frankly disgusting. The problem is a large segment of the population sees this as refreshing. The problem is Trumps problems go far beyond not accomplishing a ton in his first 100 days. When he says a “Trump Bullshit” line as he calls it, it will now have actual damaging effects on say our relationship with another country or on the economy. He has kept his same attitudes and ideas, but doesn’t realize the weight his words now carry. This is the scariest thing to me, his inability, or more unwillingness to evolve on seemingly anything, and ease at which his advisors and even cable news can manipulate
