Beneatha contributes to the plot by her being a source of the problem. She’s pretty much selfish, deceitful, ignorant and no matter what never satisfied. It’s like she just picks at every little thing that’s wrong, including Walter. Her actions and the things that she says say a lot about her. For example, the quote ‘’ That money belongs to Mama, Walter, and it’s for her to decide how she wants to use it…’’ shows that well, it’s not that she’s selfish, it’s that she’s ignorant in this piece of dialogue.
