A Snapshot of the Odyssey Odysseus’ ordeal, and the reason that he is immortalized through the Odyssey, is his homecoming. This nostos is the center focus of the Odyssey and therefore it is the focus of my sketch. The journey home for Odysseus is not a simple one, however, and some of his trials are also included in the sketch. His encounter with Polyphemus is alluded to, as well as his encounters with different ways of thinking, and his stint avoiding Charybdis. Ultimately though he does return home to his high status, prove himself with his bow and arrow skills, and fully achieve his homecoming. My sketch, although unartistic, is a good symbolic representation of Odysseus’ journey in the Odyssey. The focal point, Odysseus returning home
