Sociologists argue that race is a social construction all the time. Mostly by saying that our meanings and definitions of race change over time depending on the surrounding characteristics such as the place and people. One way to see how we construct race is to compare how the race has been viewed over different times. For an example we view people as being white a lot different now than they did a long time ago.
