The largest predator that ever lived was the Megalodon shark. Thousands of teeth have been found around the world, but only few bones. Over the past century, paleontologists have made estimates and they concluded that an adult would grow from 55 to 60 feet long and weighed about 100 tons, that is approximately the weight of a Boeing 757 aircraft. The Megalodon has a nickname Big Tooth because the teeth of this shark are up to 8 inches long. Megalodons were spread throughout the entirety of the world's oceans but ended up going extinct because of the cooling temperatures of the oceans.
