The West Wing gave an insight into the goings on the in White House in a parallel reality where a Jed Bartle, a democrat, was starting his first term as President. According to Rachel Gans-Borisk and Russ Tisinger in their 2005 article “The West Wing is widely considered to be the product of its liberal writer Aaron Sorkin and of a left-leaning Hollywood community” (Gans-Borisk and Tisinger 100). The authors also commented that “The West Wing is uniquely situated as a program to offer up political messages” (Gans-Borisk and Tisinger 102).
