Abducted : The Carlina White Story, directed by Vondie Curtis-Hall, is a mystery, television film based on a true story. It all starts out with Ann Pettway kidnapping three week old Carlina White from the hospital in the middle of the night because Ann had, had a series of miscarriages and felt the need to have a baby to raise on her own. She continued to raise Carlina, also known as Netty, knowing her parents were looking for her for sixteen years until Netty needed her birth certificate to get health insurance for her soon to be born baby and Ann was unable to provide it.
