Abstract
"The subject of abortion is one that has long been argued. It’s controversial because it involves the life of a fetus and how they end it. However, woman's "right" to privacy is a right upheld by the law, she can do whatever she wants with her body and it’s protected by the law. Women have been performing abortion for centuries. There is pros and cons when a woman perform this procedure, or even consequences that will last them forever. A lot of times an abortion is required for the well-being of a mother or it’s probably the best choice. If the woman go for an abort, she have the reason and it should be respect.
Abortion
In this society, Abortion is one of the most controversial, difficult and painful subject. It has become a political issue disagreement of the role of woman and the autonomy in her life decisions. Not only the political are disagree with this practice, the church also consider an abortion a murder. Abortion it’s been practicing all around the world, doesn’t matter which culture or what background a person have. Economic status doesn’t matter either. People do it illegally or legal. But yes it does affect everyone.
An abortion is a procedure to end a pregnancy in the first and second trimester. It uses medicine or surgery to remove the embryo or fetus and placenta from the uterus. The procedure is done by a licensed health care professional (National Library.). This is a way to take the life or kill a baby insides a mother’s womb. This technique haven’t start today, Woman have been performing abortions on themselves or with help for centuries. Therefore medical technology has advanced providing a safer and clean environment for the woman when receiving this action.
On January 22, 1973. In a historic decision, the U.S. Supreme Court rules in Roe v. Wade that women, as part of their constitutional right to privacy, can terminate a pregnancy during its first two trimesters. Only during the last trimester, when the fetus can survive outside the womb, would states be permitted to regulate abortion of a healthy pregnancy (History Canada). That being said, governs law the legality of this issue in the United States. There still many country that have partial restriction or complete ban on abortion, unless the mother is at risk. You would be surprised to know that abortion caused due to rape and other health complications account to nearly 7%, while the remaining cases of abortion are primarily a result of personal and social issues. Graph 1 shows possible reason with percentage for abortion.
(Pollack, 2012). There are pros and cons that have major point when insight abortion. Most of the time is the best for the mother well-being to abort. When a woman have an abortion, she is in risk to serious complication or even death. A lot of them suffer from depression and feel guilty of a crime or even living with unwanted memories forever. It can even affect her future health, she probably won’t be able to become pregnant again in her life. Not be able to construct a family can be something she can regret all her life. Remember that an abortion is like a crime, a violent one, you denying someone a live just because is not in your favor. You are killing a innocent that didn’t ask to come to this world. On the bible, Exodus 20:13 says “You shall not murder”, a baby is a blessing from god by tampering with this life you are sinning. Everyday families are looking to adopt a child just because they can’t have babies. Sometimes woman goes thru difficult times, an abortion it’s probably the only option furtherance. A lot of woman that are pregnant are minor and they not mentally, physical or economic prepared to raise a child. It’s no fear for a 16 years old to give birth at do young. She don’t have the capacity to raise a child. She needs to finish her school and have a career in able to support that baby.
