In another article I read by Don Marquis called, “Why Abortion is Immoral,” the discussion of contradictory attitudes toward abortion and murder are shown through logical reasoning of comparisons of why they’re the same, which bring my question into play. If it is not acceptable under any circumstances to end someone’s life in the essence of legalities, why would it ever be accepted as okay to eliminate a pregnancy due to inconvenience and inability? The answer is it isn’t. Minus the situations regarding the health of the mother or child, it is not okay to take away a future because of the uncertainty of it.
In the circumstances of unavoidable pregnancy and birth deficiencies, although the Dior situation is unfortunate and rightfully deemed so, the choice of the matter should still be carefully considered. My preferences lean towards childbirth still partially because in the situation of inevitable pregnancy due to situations like rape, the emotional and psychological consequences of a crime should not be directed towards the innocent life resulting from it.
