Typically, tutoring companies that are off-campus get the majority of their clients via word of mouth. Action Tutoring is a free, on-campus tutoring service for students at The University of Oklahoma. It provides free tutoring for over 100 subjects at convenient places around campus. Located in Wagner Hall, Action Tutoring is an on-campus business that is helping thousands of OU students boost their grades. On the flip side, it has been a challenge for Action Tutoring to communicate to students it’s easy online booking and educate the students to actually use their free service.
Faculty members at Action Tutoring state that one of their major complaints is that most students don’t know they can book appointments online. An Assistant to the Director of Action Tutoring, Ingrid ter Steege, states that the most frequent question she gets from …show more content…
Booking an appointment online gives students access to choosing a time that best works with their personal schedule.
A freshman student at The University of Oklahoma, Caroline Gates, states, “I have walked all the way to Wagner Hall to see if Action Tutoring had any walk-ins for Latin that day, only to find out it is not on the schedule.”
Action Tutoring has become inconvenient for students, like Caroline, that waste time walking over to their office only to find out there are no walk-ins provided for their class. With an online appointment with Action Tutoring, the staff can productively schedule a tutor that meets the students subject and time.
