The changing of environment accelerated throughout the years and the organizations are forced to face those different types of changes (Daft, 2011). Hence, the leaders act as very important role because adaptive leaders can adapt the changes quickly and move forward with precise ways in order to help the organization to become competence. This statement was supported by Yukl and Mahsud (2010) as they claimed that flexible and adaptive leadership can change the behaviour when there is a change of situation. It can be concluded that these type of leadership can manage the immediate crises caused by the changing of the external environment. Besides, adaptability also important when facing diversity issues. The amount of diversity at workplace is increasing. This caused there are different value among the members and providing weak commitment to the organization (Yukl, 2002). Yet, the leaders can use their adaptability to create greater variety of standpoints to increase the chances of full utilize of the diverse members. Then, conflicts can be decreased and the productivity
