Drugs such as Adderall and Ritalin are normally prescribed to people with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) to help them concentrate and stay on task. People with ADD or ADHD need these medications for the thought processes in their brain to properly function. Individuals without these disorders already have functioning chemicals in the brain that allow for concentration. If someone without one of these disorders were to take Adderall or Ritalin, their brain would be overwhelmed and create a heightened sense of focus.
