The risk for cardiac problems, addiction, and abuse accompanied with these drugs increases with use. Cardiac problems can encompass a high risk for people who are prescribed these medications, and the drug use illegally and without a prescription, a person may not know if the drug could harm their cardiac system. Adderall prescription bottles have a warning for “serious cardiac problems” and if a person ingests them without knowing the risk, there is a much higher risk for cardiac issues, and death (Talbot). The use of Adderall and other amphetamines for recreational use can lead to a “dependence” on the drug for focus in general and normal day to day function (Talbot). The increased use of the drug creates a normalcy to its use. As more people begin to use the drug, there is an increased risk for health issues among users. Also, it can lead to an increase in addiction within the population, as more people who have low tolerance to addiction have the medication more readily available. The risk for abuse is very high for drugs such as Adderall and Ritalin. This has happened in colleges and high schools across the nation and demonstrated that new regulations need to come into play as the drug becomes more readily available. As more dangerous drugs become available to the public as more prescriptions for the drug are given out, the risk for abuse increases because more of the population has access to the drugs. The ignored harm of the drug or thought of as benign by healthy students using the pills creates a healthy attitude towards the drug. This attitude towards the health or risk of the drug says a lot about the people using these drugs. It would show that they do not care about their well-being or life at all, seeing as many people have died from cardiac problems attributed to Adderall and other drugs. If people value their
