Addiction is is a state of mind in which people have a powerful need to abuse substances. Depression is a a sickness in the mind that causes feelings of sadness and discouragement. How do novelist depict the correlation between depression and addiction in their novels? This question is asked to understand addiction and depression by reading from novels that depict each illness and then further seeing their correlation.
