Anorexia nervosa is an eating disorder that causes people to obsess about their weight and the food they eat. Anorexia is an illness that involves both the mind and body. People with anorexia use dieting and weight management to feel comfortable mentally and emotionally. This eating disorder is not really about food, but a psychological way to cope with emotional problems. People with anorexia often relate thinness with self-worth. They often feel helpless and out control which is why they use food, dieting, and weight control to feel powerful.
