According to the United States Department of the Treasury, social justice has been a constant issue throughout United States history, and its impact on minority communities, such as African Americans and Native Americans, should not be overlooked. By looking into the experiences and systemic discrimination both communities have faced, proper awareness can aid in the lasting consequences of social injustice on the community's overall well-being. They have also faced social and economic inequalities, as well as environmental degradation and economic disadvantages (OJJDP, 2022). African American communities have faced educational inequality as well. During segregation, African American schools were not funded with as much money as the white schools (LOC). After the Brown v. Board of Education ruling that declared segregation in schools unconstitutional (LDF), many African American students still had to face unequal treatment and access to an overall good education. Unfair educational opportunities and discriminatory practices influence educational disadvantages and limit opportunities for individuals in both the African American and Native-American communities. Social injustice allows educational disadvantages and limited opportunities to continue for Native American and African American communities. According to a report by the National Center for Education Statistics, Native American students have a lower graduation rate compared to their fellow white students (Smith, 2019). This imbalance can be responsible for multiple factors such as underfunded schools, lack of access to necessary resources needed for a better education, and cultural
