The African Wildlife Foundation’s homepage opens with their mission statement, “African Wildlife Foundation’s mission is to ensure wildlife and wildlands thrive in modern Africa.” Their goal being the first thing the reader sees. Under that, the page provides information on exactly where all the donation money goes. That being 85% of profits going to the programs they run, 10% to fundraising, and 3% to administrative salaries. They also provide a link to their annual financial report, as well as emotionally engaging the reader by providing facts such as “Did you know? Deforestation affects Africa at twice the global average.” Then urging readers to quickly donate.

In this news article from “The Sacramento Bee” a PAWS veterinarian by the name of Jackie Gai tells the reporter about what goes on when taking care of the animals they rescue. She details some of the common causes of deformities these animals, primarily elephants, suffer from such as, being in cages, and being on concrete all of their lives. She also explains how hard it can be to treat these animals without the right resources and stresses how thankful she is for the PAWS’s new animal hospital that was made possible by an anonymous $1 million dollar donation. Hearing first hand what these doctors do and what these animals went through really appeals to emotion. Also, the fact that someone trusted in this organization enough to anonymously donate so much money makes me really trust in their work and the cause they fight
