On February 29, 1956 Aileen Carol Pittman was born in Rochester, Michigan to Leo and Diane Pittman (SOURCE #2/1). Her father, who she never met, was a violent alcoholic that was incarcerated for child molestation and ended his life in 1969 by hanging himself in his jail cell (SOURCE #1). After the death of her father, Diane Wuornos struggled to raise Aileen and her older brother Keith.
