Avazpour 3 pollution increase, which brings me back to my first point on why traffic is bad for our society.
Another article I came across was, “Spatial Analysis of Air Pollution and Morality in Los Angeles” by Michael Jerrett, it was focuses on chronic health effects that was associated within a city due to air pollution. Jerrett quotes,
“We also note convincing evidence of specificity in these health effects, with a stronger association between air pollution and ischemic heart disease than for the more general measures of cardiopulmonary deaths or all cause morality.”
Reading this quote makes me wonder why people don’t cherish what is naturally given to them such as free and clean air. Polluting Los Angeles can start off very little, basic things such as cigarette buds, car oil and burning accessories can make a huge impact towards air contamination in the city. It is due to the fact that there is a lot of association involved with the people within the city. When people interact with one another transportation is needed. Therefore, people use a vehicle in which runs off gasoline; when gasoline is used smoke is exposed to air causing contaminated air to flow within the city.
