Some people spend a ton of money on 30 or so plays at an arcade, while at Caine Monroy’s arcade, these are the prices: $1=4 plays, $2=1 Fun Pass. Nice prices, huh? 9 years old Caine Monroy has become an internet sensation and true inspiration to kids around the world with his handmade cardboard arcade of Los Angeles. Caine, an ordinary 9 year old with an extraordinary arcade in his dad’s auto shop, gets a long overdue surprise that leads to fame. Now, with a much greater life, Caine and his director Nirvan Mullack have another mission, this time to make a worldwide difference.
So, how did Caine get his arcade so popular? It all started with a little basketball game that he made. It was composed of a basketball hoop he got from Shakey’s Pizza and a cardboard backboard, and then his arcade grew from there. Plus, his facility had a great value: $1 for four plays, and $2 for a fun pass. With a fun pass, you get an astonishing 500 plays. Caine even had his own staff t-shirt, which he refused to wear to school because nobody believed that he had an arcade and he always got bullied about it. This is how it was everyday for Caine.
