1. Name and describe each of the four assessment components areas.
• One mile run or walk or Pacer- This is the Aerobic Cardiovascular Endurance portion of the test. This objective of this test is cover a one-mile distance as fast possible by running or walking. The Pacer option is for the younger kids who cannot pace themselves. It is designed for them to run back and forth across a 20-meter space.
• 90 degree Push-ups- This is the Muscular Strength/Endurance portion of the Alabama Physical Fitness Assessment Test. It is designed to measure upper-body strength and endurance by the total number of push-ups done correctly.
• Partial Curl-up- This is the Abdominal Strength/Endurance portion of the Alabama Physical Fitness Test. The objective of this test is to measure the abdominal strength and endurance.
• Sit and Reach- This is the Flexibility portion of the Alabama Physical Fitness

One mile run or walk or Pacer- Children will usually be doing the pacer option since they do not know how to pace themselves running a mile. This test is administered by marking off a 21 yard run with cones. There should be multiple lanes going at one time. The students run the 21 yards until they do not make it to the start or finish line before the beep sounds. The score is max total times laps they completed.
90-Degree Push up test- The students start in a prone position with hands under shoulders. The students will lower their body until elbows bend at a 90 degree angle and upper arms are parallel to the floor. This test should be done as many times as possible. The score is total number of pushups completed.
Partial Curl-up- The students should lay on a clean, flat surface with knees flexed. There should be no one holding their feet to assist them. The student should curl up slowly and slide their fingers toward their knees until fingers touch their knees. The score is total number of curl ups
