What stood out after reading the book is I wondered by David’s father wouldn’t stand up for his son and above all his profession was a firefighter and he used to save people’s life and not for his son.

David’s family system portrayed to have issues that were associated by both parents being alcohol and the mother was more affected. The mother was the controller of everything that happened to their family and the father seemed to have no say when it came to David’s physical abuse from the mother.
When it comes to school I think they responded very well by informing the required authority to what was happening to David. Taking David to the foster care and seeing a doctor due to bruises he had was a good way to start him. As a Human Service
