Alexander the Great was born in Paella, Macedonia, in July 356 BC . He became the king of Macedonia and conquered most of the known world through vigorous military campaigns. He was undefeated in many battles such as, Granikos, Issos, Gavgamila, Ydaspes, and Sousa. His goal to was unite nations and spread the greek culture in the world during his era . In his early life, Alexander The great was raised by his parents King Philip II of Macedonia and Queen Olympia, the daughter of King Neoptolemus. Alexander’s father was hardly ever around because he spent most of his time in military campigains or in other marital affairs . Instead, his mother had to serve as a role model for him . Alexander was then determined to seize the throne by any means necessary. During his time as king, Alexander conquered the largest empire in the entire ancient world which covered about 3,000 miles without the benefit of any modern technology or weapons at the time . This empire would not have lead to success if it wasn't for Alexander inheriting the world's strongest army from his father and also through his great military strategy. The territories that were being conquered by alexander were Persia, Syria, Mesopotamia, Egypt, and founded the city Alexandria in Egypt . One of his main goals was to lend money to these conquered territories to help it build and develop and also to have the people in these territories expand greek culture. on June 13, 323 BC, Alexander died at the age of 33 from Malaria in Babylon, while considering the conquest of Carthage and Rome . After his sudden death, Alexander left no Heir to rule. His empire was then divided up by his most trusted generals and it broke into different kingdoms under the generals
