The creature Frankenstein create was doomed to be an outcast from society the moment he was brought to life. Even though Frankenstein had initially created him to be greater than any man in every aspect, his product failed to be that. This led to the creature’s alienation from society and it also revealed to the reader what it is society expects someone to be like. Shelley was able to explore what society deemed to be “normal” through the creatures alienation. When the creature described the cottagers he looked after, he admired their “perfect forms”.
