The goal of this experiment was to determine how much % of NaHCO3 was in the Alka Seltzer tablets by exploring the relationship between the amount of reactant and product. In order to answer the following question, vinegar, water, and alka seltzer were used as the reactants. After mixing these reactants together, water, carbon dioxide, and sodium acetate were produced. When more vinegar was added, the percent by mass of NaHCO3 kept increasing and then it reached a steady value. When the more volume of vinegar was added, the more sodium bicarbonate reacted and more CO2 was produced.
