Rashad’s story was invalidated by the police and media, and ultimately led to protests to help bring awareness to racial discrimination. Rashad was falsely accused of stealing because of the color of his skin. This is clear because the evidence clearly states that Rashad was confused when Paul pointed him out in Jerry’s. “Me?” I put my finger to my chest, confused. The cop perked up, slipping between me and the clerk to get a better look.But he wasn’t looking at me at all. Not at first, but at last. This shows this because the man confronted Rashad with a confrontational attitude and started accusing him of stealing and not the women.
