Some accept that the end has come, and they have spent their time wisely, others may cling to life afraid of what comes next. Many have philosophized that the reason we exist to make life better for ourselves and others is because all of us have our time, no one wants to feel left out or alone. So, we strive to make our mark on this world without really knowing how. These virtues, originally a guideline of how to live a fulfilling and virtuous life, are now used as a contrast to vices that land people in Hell. Just as there is light, there is dark, just as there is up, there down, and so on. These Seven Heavenly Virtues are Chastity, Temperence, Patience, Diligence, Charity, Humility and Kindness. I believe that All Star Superman hits all of these points, showing the virtuous nature of Superman while telling an enthralling story about him coming to grips with his end. Chastity and Temperence are virtues that exemplify Superman’s ability to hold back, show great restraint and dedication when it comes to his personal life as Clark Kent, as well as his life as Superman. Chastity is known to be the virtue of abstaining from sexual acts and keeping in line with monogamy. Superman is known to be a very dedicated individual, only finding interest in one person, Louis Lane. When he was back in Smallville, the only person he trusted with his secret identity was his closest friend, Lana Lang.
