Allen played varsity at Bethel in just the 8th grade where he started to catch attention for his athletic ability. But sadly, Allen was unable to follow up his 9th grade year because he suffered an ankle injury. Allen came back into the high school sports scene during his 10th grade year. Allen 10th grade year was tremendous, but it will be his 11th grade year that was the best. During Allen 11th grade year he was regarded as one of the best high school athletes in the country.

Well in February 14, 1993, Iverson and his childhood friends were involved in an altercation with other individuals at a bowling alley in his hometown that he grew up in. It was said that Allen and his friends were loud and had to be asked to be quiet several times, and eventually a shouting match began between the two groups. As a result, to the shouting match a fight had begun. After the fight some individuals claimed that Allen hit a woman in the head with a chair. Which resulted in Allen and his friends being arrested.
