Alpha Kappa Alpha is a greek lettered sorority,the first established by African American college women. The sorority was founded on January 15,1908 ,at the historically black Howard University in Washington,D.C. by a group of sixteen students led by Ethel Hedgeman Lyle,five years later 1913 lead incorporator Nellie Quander made sure Alpha Kappa Alpha’s long lasting period through incorporater in the district of Columbia.
