People generally see everyday involve mainstream media. It disseminated the largest distribution channel. Such as: broadcast in an evening or the prime time newscast in television; tabloids, the variety of magazines; news portals. Therefore the mainstream media represents the majority of media consumers are preferred. It also indicates those media generally reflective of the prevailing currents of thought, influence, or activity. Though analysis this website to approach the characteristic of alternative media and how it is challenge the mainstream media. This website is created by investigative journalists :Amy Goodman and Juan Gonzalez. Goodman. They are critical journalists which challenge to expose the truth of the US government, corporations and the Pentagon. The funds of Democracy now are completely from contributions from audiences and foundations. It rejects the support from advertisers, corporate underwriting, or government funding. The feature of Democracy Now news is regard as reliable and representing the views of the anti-war, anti-imperialist constituency. In addition, it has always been hosts both side debates between people who mainly disagree. For example, there is an argument between the White House or the Pentagon spokespeople in one side, and grassroots activists on the other. In this way, Democracy Now is playing a valuable propaganda function in this case. The intention of alternative media is supposed to be unbiased and objective; therefore it is trustable to the audience.
