Alva Wilson / ALVA HEADWEAR, specializes in hats for men and women. His work side-steps traditional techniques and explores contemporary design concepts incorporating texture, shape and form. He studied fashion/textiles at Middlesex University and freelance as a fashion designer before deciding to do millinery. He sold his first collection to 'THE HAT SHOP', in Covent Garden and from there went on to sell to other boutiques –‘ Boy London’, ‘Antique Aquarius’ and ‘Design Also’ - all based in London. Commissions for theatre, film and television followed and he became known as the ‘New milliner on the block who occasional showed his collection at ‘Alternative Fashion Week’ at Spitalfields, London.
