I would say that “My Papa’s Waltz” by Theodore Roethke has similarities of “Alzheimer’s” by Kelly Cherry because the boy’s drunk papa was drinking so much whiskey that you could smell it on him (Roethke 978). In “My Papa’s Waltz” it states, “The whiskey on your breath could make a small boy dizzy” which demonstrates that he had been drinking large amount of whiskey. Drinking large amounts of heavy whiskey tends to cause a person to forget everything that happened while he is in the drunken stage. People need to be careful when they are in a drunken stupor because this causes you to hit your head and it causes memory lost. They wake up not remembering anything that happened while they were in that stage. It has the same symptoms as Alzheimer’s,
