History: African Imperialism
Imperialism is the policy of extending a country's power through diplomacy or military force. Imperialism is a form of colonization. A nation increased its prestige and power by winning an overseas empire. During the Age of Exploration, Europeans built a trading posts on the coast of Africa, but for centuries they had little direct influence on the lives of most Africans. In the 1800’s a climatic change occurred. The Industrial revolution and the growth of nationalism strengthened European nations. In the 1870s, Europeans were seeking new resources and markets. “Arab awakening” or “Arab Spring” involves all of Arab countries such as Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Yemen, Bahrain, Syria, Algeria, and other countries. The common point of these countries is that their leaders have upmost power, and in some cases, they become dictators. In these Arab countries, family ruling and corruption are commonplace. Thus, citizens in these countries have protested against their government, violence clashes have occurred more and more frequently in these countries. People in this region live in hard conditions such as low wages, a lack of freedom, high unemployment but the rulers have many rights such as control the media, communication, information, culture, and so on. This led to Arab Spring because people were dissatisfied by injustice and the people are driven by other internal parties or external factors like confrontational states. As a result, a lot of people in Arab World protested and demonstrated their anger with the governments. And certainly, it becomes the strong wave of Arab countries after successful protests in Tunisia. The US triggered the instability situation in these countries and pushed the protests and clashed to civil wars. It is not the 9/11 which lit the fire; rather it is the imperialistic approach whose roots are as old as early 20th century. The cause is not the religion or cultural fault lines but economic one further reinforced by ambitions for global Imperialism. It is the Black gold of the Middle East and Central Asia which is luring America from American peninsula to Arabian Peninsula. The absolute power has made the US absolute arrogant. If the prevailing situation is allowed to grow unchecked then the results are likely to be devastating. Therefore, there is urgent need for initiation of dialogue between civilizations, accommodations of others views, showing restraints and demonstrating
