American Revolution
America is the way it is today because of the American Revolution. The revolution showed the parting of the British Empire and one of its Colonies. The goals in the revolution that helped the people want to achieve freedom and actually get the courage to, continue to influence American Society even after that time. Because of the independence America tried so much to achieve, a separating society was made that was longing to wrap around new thoughts. Even though America was starting to be a tough and power-worthy nation, the lurking issues from the revolution, stay as a big part in the political and economic aspects that in at times clashed with revolutionary ways from 1735 to 1800.Americans wanted a national government

The revolution lead to political unity and made more people want change in the nation. This all lead to a weak document being made, The Articles of Confederation, because of the fear of an alike government like Britain’s. The states ended up bringing together the 13 governments, however did not have the power to mess with the important problems, or to smoothen out diplomatic affairs. Since congress was not able to tax or draft people for war, it put people on the line because states were able to decline the want for taxes and troops. Because the government did not have the power to build and train an army, it could not do anything about protests because it was not able to build or train an army. The Constitution came to be because of the problems with the confederation. The constitution was based on a national government that was prepared to deal with the nation’s problems. With the Federalist Paper, James Madison motivates the people to become pro-constitution. Madison’s view of the government was more of that its purpose is to keep hold of the people and spread peace. Anti-Federalists wanted an agricultural society with a large slave population. The North, liked the development leading to a focus on urban growth and an industry-based economy. When Jefferson became president however, the Republican Party backed up agricultural development instead of commercial development. After the war, American trade freed itself from restrictions and tariffs that Britain required of America. However, another change that happened during this time, was the depression that came after the war. A fair share of land and paper money was wanted by people rebelling, and therefor created Shay’s Rebellion. This, was where farmers fought for lower taxes and in general, relief from their debt. Fighting the war of course cost a lot of money. A lot of debt that America was rising in could not be paid off because of the inability of Congress to tax. Farmers started swimming in debt their land was taken away from them because most had no money o get rid of their debt because the taxes would not stop. Even with that, the economy was unable to give soldiers the money they deserved and needed, so instead they were paid in government
