In “America’s First Road Trip,” the author, Charles C. Entwistle, acknowledges Nelson Jackson’s groundbreaking historic event with admiration and respect. He further portrays that by highlighting Jackson’s positive attributes and his historical significance. The author shows his admiration and respect; according to paragraph three, the author narrates “Although two men were traveling east.Jackson and Crocker were like America’s early pioneers.” Entwistle accentuates his respect for Jackson and Crocker by wanting to prove that automobiles are safe and durable. Then in paragraph six, Entwistle introduces Jackson as “high - spirited optimist.” Towards the end of the paragraph, the author says “To silence some friendly critics, he bet $50 he could reach New York in less than 90 days.” Entwistle further strengthens his respect, as Jackson is not conscious of the criticism, he stands bold and courageous for his decisions, adding to the author's admiration. …show more content…
