Throughout the centuries of time, brave and fearless explorers have traveled the globe to discover new lands, people, animals, riches, and glory from all over the world. Many explorers have achieved greatness and others have experienced failure, but almost all the explorers have left an impact that could not be forgotten. In fact, some explorers failures lead others to successes. Each Explorer comes from all over the globe to seek something, but two important ones are Amerigo Vespucci and Pedro Alvares Cabral. These two navigators had achieved and failed at different things amongst their voyages, but are still both different and the same.

King Manuel the first entrusted Cabral with a voyage to India and was appointed to admiral in supreme command of 13 ships that had set out on March 9th, 1500. The route he was suppose to take was inspired by an earlier explorer by the name of Vasco da Gama and it said he was to sail southwest to pass the waters of the Gulf of Guinea. They had previously sighted those lands around, which had split the still almost completely unknown "New World" between Spain and Portugal. When he sailed westward, he discovered a land that he named "Island of The Blue Cross" which is now known as Brazil. After a staying 10 days in Brazil, Cabral sailed for India and bad misfortunes had began to take their toll. Four ships were soon lost with all hands on deck and when the remaining ships had anchored, their was a short lived welcoming from Muslim traders who soon attacked. Cabral retaliated and took over 10 Muslim ships and soon sailed farther south and found trade with spices and above all the misfortunes, the king was still pleased with him once he got
