This paper identifies and describes key information from five sources from research conducted online. The research sources vary in their views on rail systems in the transportation Industry, market domain: Rail Systems and Infrastructure Maintenance. As stated in the Amtrak Mechanical Services Brochure, 2011. Hundreds of locomotives and pieces of equipment are maintain through a strategic plan of routine maintenance and services. Successful running rail systems are well maintain and maintenance is the essential element to the equation. (2011). Millions rely on the rail systems each year for their short and long distance transportation needs. Keeping all the trains on the track and on time requires a complex strategic maintenance plan.
