Music is used in our lives every day. Most of us listen to music for hours, we listen to music in the car, on the bus, when we walk, and when we do homework. Music pace people’s day to keep them calm. What if the music everybody hears on the radio was not censored from profanity and violence? In an article Music Censorship: An Overview by Heater Newton explain the censoring music has been banned back in the early centuries because of sexually explicit lyrics and performances. Now in today society music is censored for the use of sexual words, racist words, and violent words. The songs that contain these things are censored to protect citizens who don’t really agree with the lyrics. Using freedom of speech doesn’t mean abuse the power you have to say whatever you think that’s not what the whole purpose of having a voice to your society. They also think it’s the responsibly of the parents to make sure that their children listen to appropriate music. Parents can’t monitor everything that comes on the radio starts out with appropriate music and then later music that is inappropriate a parent can’t manage that every day. They say that the law should stay the same and not change, but music plays a factor for some people they get influenced by what their favorite artist says in the song that is bad and they can’t get influenced by the artist actions.
